Oldboy film is back on screens in their restored version Here’s the trailer

Oldboy The iconic film of the legendary South Korean director Park Chan-Wook is showing again in its restored version. The trailer of the breathtaking revenge film has also been released.

The cult Korean action film Oldboy is returning onto the screens in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the film. Its film which was able to build a huge following and was re-released this August 16, in its remastered version. In conjunction with the announcement the trailer was also released.

Produced by Park Chan-Wook the film has earned the status of a cult and gained international recognition following its release in 2003. This way, Park Chan-Wook opened the doors to Korean cinema to get into the eyes of viewers in other countries.

Its film won with the Grand Prize at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, garnered numerous prizes throughout South Korea. It also inspired a few Western projects. The initial season of Netflix Daredevil Daredevil has a hallway battle scene based on an episode from Oldboy.

This American Version was an disaster

In 2013 in 2013, the American adaptation of Oldboy which starred Josh Brolin, was released. The film was however met with harsh reviews from the public and critics, and was a failure in the box office. The film of Park Chan-Wook is a masterpiece that is a riveting story you’ll find below:

“Oh Dae-su, a common businessman, is abducted by a stranger outside his home and held in the form of a cell. As he tries to understand the situation, he discovers the wife of his friend was murdered by a newscaster and that he’s the primary suspect. Dae-su tries to retaliate after his 15-year imprisonment is completed. The quest leads to a conclusion he had not anticipated.
